Winter at Wynndean…
We were treated to an absolutely magnificent sight of the Aurora Australis during over the Mother’s Day weekend in May. A geomagnetic storm of a strength not seen for two decades was behind the phenomena. Adam captured some spectacular photos of the night, staying awake until the early hours to capture the display. You can view some of his amazing photos on his Instagram, Facebook or website- www.adamstanphotography.com.au
Adam is a wealth of knowledge on the event, stop him for a chat and ask him about the rare event!
Were you down for the weekend to witness the dancing lights? Even visible to the naked eye, it was an amazing evening.
If you’re visiting the area on July 31 there may be another significant Aurora event- take out your phone and pop on the night setting to possibly witness the magic. Follow Adam’s Photography Facebook page for more info.
Below are some photos shared with us from guests from the May event-
We’ve also had some whales visiting over the winter. These calmer days with clean surf are a great opportunity to spot them. You might like to keep an eye out on the local community Facebook pages for sightings or pop into the Office and ask for any news.
Care for Your Site
Gas bottle secured to your drawbar.
Caravan Parks across Victoria have recently received new CFA Regulations and Caravan Park Regulations.
What does this mean to us? In order to be compliant under these new regulations, we’re facing strict protocols regarding access around sites, structures and separations between vans and other materials. However, we want to turn this into something positive and so we are introducing a new initiative called Care for Your Site. In preparation for our assessment later this year, we would love to assist you with Caring for Your Site.
Our first priority is addressing the guideline regarding storage of chemicals and dangerous goods.
Spare gas bottles and dangerous goods cannot be stored around the Park.
We are asking all guests to ensure your gas cylinder is secured to your drawbar or stored under your BBQ/heater cabinet.
If you have any old, damaged or empty gas cylinders or dangerous goods such as paint, paint thinners etc we will happily collect and dispose of them for you. Please contact the Office.

This will be available under the following guidelines-
- All visitors are required to register their stay with the Office
- Monetary exchanges will occur between the Guest and the Visitor
- Site Charge will be charged to the site holder for visitor stays and payable upon invoice
- Any works/trades required during the subletting period will be required to be arranged via the site owner
- Site holder will be responsible to ensure Park Rules are strictly followed
- No Third party advertising, such as AirBnB
A list of Wynndean preferred trades can be found here- Trades Contacts — Wynndean
We have communicated these changes with previous renters of your van and directed them to the Wynndean Guest Facebook Page. If you have any questions or need support please contact the Office.
