New CFA Fire Danger Ratings- Please read.
This year we have seen the introduction to the new Fire Danger Rating System.
The importance of CFA Fire Danger Ratings help you decide what actions to take to protect yourself and others from bushfires and grassfires. CFA Fire danger Ratings are shown in the same way across all of Australia, so whether you are at home or travelling, you will see the same rating system.
Below is the link with the current Fire Danger Ratings for Victoria-
We display these ratings daily at the Office and communicate with guests as required.
It is a requirement to have a working smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and fire blanket in your van.
These items can be purchased at cost from our office. Please feel free to grab our laminated Emergency Evacuation Procedures as well.
Fire Safety at Wynndean
For guest safety at Wynndean, all guests should:
Download the Vic Emergency Ap & check daily &/or check the office daily board for current rating

Be familiar with current Fire Ban Days and Fire Danger Ratings
Please familiarise yourselves with the BBQ regulations during the fire danger period and Total Fire Ban days.
Below is information from the CFA website-
Can I BBQ during the Fire Danger Period? Only Park BBQs can be used on a day of Total Fire Ban.
The wind is less than 10 km/h. This means that leaves are moving around in the wind.
The area 3 metres around and above the fire must be clear of anything that can burn.
The area within a distance of 3 metres from the outer perimeters of the fire and the uppermost point of the fire is clear of flammable material
Never leave the fire or BBQ alone. A person who can put out the fire must always stay by the fire.
The BBQ must be turned off or the fire completely put out when finished.
The office will continue to display information regarding Total Fire Ban days, we will also communication with our registered guests via email with any additional information when required.
The CFA plan on visiting local Parks over the Summer break.
NYE Fire Works
Unfortunately, Barwon Coast Committee of Management & Victoria Police have advised there will be no fire works and no traffic management on NYE. We do our best to advocate for the traffic management around the foreshore in order to prevent people camping in their cars around Wynndean. If you have any concerns, please chat to the office.
Bellarine NYE Fireworks location: Portarlington Pier 7 - 10pm
All up-to-date news and details will available on the Wynndean Noticeboard at the Office.
