Electricity Problem Solving at your Van

We recommend that you switch off your electricity to your caravan when you vacate. This is best practise for safety and for unplanned outages that are common in our coastal area. To receive an SMS notification from Powercor, please visit Powercor Manage your Power Outage Notifications.

This is intended as a guide to assist guests in problem solving electricity issues with their caravans. Please contact a qualified electrician to perform any works and inform the office prior to any works being commenced. All sites must be covered by an RCD/safety switch.

If you do experience an outage:

  1. Turn off all the power including power points in your van & annexe. Particularly appliances such as a fridge that may have a fault.

  2. Reset your RCD/safety switch (orange/white) by pushing the red reset button. The RCD/safety switch will be located in your meter box. If you are unable to reset your RCS/safety switch you may have a fault or faulty appliance that will need further investigation.

  3. Ensure that the power point and circuit breaker in your meter box is also on & switched up.

  4. If this is all ok but you still don’t have power, check to see if you have a circuit breaker in your caravan. Ensure it is up/on. Generally it will be in a cupboard up high or near rear of your van.

  5. If you have followed these steps and still don’t have power, check to see if there is power at the meter in your meter box. If there is no power in the meter box please call the Wynndean office 52 55 1766 for assistance.

Wynndean staff are happy to assist where possible. If you require urgent attention outside of business hours please also phone the Wynndean office 5255 1766. You may require an electrician.
